Today's audiences are much more discriminating on comedy. I don't think Seinfeld was even funny. I think today's market would have cancelled it even with the longer than 4 episodes. That's just my opinion.

Re: Suggested Apps Fail

Hah! One day it'll use unicode, until then we just have to deal with international systems that aren't internationalised.

Re: Suggested Apps Fail

Congratulations! And it's annoying. But there's no way it can survive in today's world. We're not gathering at 8pm on Friday to watch Dollhouse, we're watching it when we want now. Fox and NBC will figure that out, but the problem is, will it be fast enough. Joss has already proven that internet distribution works. I predict that in the near future we'll see more and more GOOD quality content distributed right to the internet. And some of it might even be from the big players, but I'll be a lot won't. And really, it's that which scares the big 4. The fact that they can't control what you see online.

Re: Please don’t pitate Dollhouse

Unfortunately, Chris, it's the way it is right now. Trust me, I'd much rather of seen Joss do this the way he did Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. He's already proven internet can work as a distribution method.

Re: Please don’t pitate Dollhouse

Don't get me started on the 60 year old business model. Today NBC and cohorts blocked Hulu from Boxee because they don't want people watching Hulu on their TV. What the hell?!! They're so protective of their distribution systems that they're missing great opportunities to get more exposure and more revenue. They absolutely need to let go of the old model and start finding new ones that work very well. Then people won't need or want to pirate anymore, because they'll have access to their favorite shows all the time.

Re: Please don’t pitate Dollhouse

if you really want it to survive, stop using a 60 year old business model to propagate the show to its viewers. sorry but its the hard truth. www.purepwnage.com

Re: I need a girl’s opinion

No facial hair at all. Anyway, horoscopes, despite the BS they may be, do get you thinking. I think perhaps its a bit of self fulfilling prophecy with a bit of quantum intention in there. It may or may not come to pass, but it does get you thinking and someone else' writing may change they way you operate throughout the day. So while it may not be a true prophecy, it still has some sort of an impact depending on how you react to it. If you stop, think and internalize it, it may very well happen. If you blow it off and ignore it, then a horoscope is no more than like reading a fortune in a fortune cookie. Just words on a page. That's how I see it.

Re: FYI: Server changes

What's weird?

And how's the car today?

-Adam

Re: FYI: Server changes

Well...that's weird.

Re: Just another day in Illinois politics…

Greed is a revolting act that could get you into a lot of trouble down the line – I’m sure Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich would agree. Blagojevich was arrested early Tuesday, December 9th, on federal corruption charges related in part to the selection of President-elect Barack Obama's successor to the Senate. Shockingly, this is the second time in a row that an Illinois governor has been arrested on federal charges. Illinois' 39th governor, George Ryan, was also charged for political corruption and has served little more than a year of his 6 1/2-year sentence. Much like Ryan, Blagojevich saw an opportunity to use his power to leverage benefits for himself by attempting to sell the senate seat. According to the news, Blagojevich was hoping to get a significantly higher salary, a position on the board for his wife, a cabinet post and more in his senate replacement bargain. His greed caught up with him. The FBI has filed a seventy-six page indictment against both Blagojevich and Harris. Apparently his devious deed was caught on tape through a court ordered wire tap last month. The governor is declaring his innocence, professing that everything he said, both in public and in private, has always been lawful.
